FAQs
Is membership free?
Yes. Membership in HVA is completely free. We are a volunteer-led nonprofit organization.
How do I join?
You can:
Fill out the confidential form on our Join page.
Email us directly at HealthyVolunteersAlliance@gmail.com.
Request to join our private Facebook group (facebook.com/groups/healthyvolunteersalliance).
Membership approval is required to keep the group safe and secure.
Who can join HVA?
Any current or past healthy volunteer in clinical trials is welcome.
Will joining affect my ability to participate in studies?
No. Membership is private and cannot be seen by clinics or sponsors. Our confidential group ensures you can share experiences safely without fear of being excluded from trials.
Although you must have a Facebook profile to join the confidential group, you may post anonymously once access has been granted.
Can I share my story or experience?
Yes! Member stories help us identify patterns and advocate for better treatment. You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. This information can be shared anonymously.
Will my name or information ever be shared?
No. Membership is strictly private and confidential. Your name and details will never be disclosed publicly or to clinical trial facilities.
Is HVA against clinical trial facilities or researchers?
No. We are not lawsuit-driven and we do not attack facilities. Our focus is fairness, respect, and advocacy. We recognize that most issues arise from sponsor-driven study criteria, not clinic staff.
Why focus on healthy volunteers?
We focus on:
Age discrimination in eligibility criteria.
Fair and consistent compensation.
Equal treatment regardless of race, gender, or background.
Protecting volunteers from retaliation, blacklisting, or bans.
What if I’ve already had a bad experience at a clinic?
You’re not alone. Many members have faced unfair treatment, inconsistent pay, or discrimination. By joining HVA, your experience contributes to collective advocacy so no one has to face these situations alone.
